Isshinryu Karate - Ages 9 and up!
Okinawan vertical fist Karate focused on self-defense using a set of simple but direct techniques. Classes focus on improving mechanics, accuracy, power, and controlwhile building confidence in personal ability and technique execution. Conditioning during class improves flexibility, speed, and agility.
Kobudo - Ages 14 and up!
The traditional study of Okinawan weapons starting with Bo, Sai, and Tonfa.
Iaido and Kenjutsu - Ages 14 and up!
Samurai Dragons' Iaido is school of Samurai Swordsmanship. Classes focus on the skills, physical conditioning, and mental focus necessary to safely and effectively handle a Katana. Students begin with a Bokuto (wooden sword) training in basic cuts, self-defense and other drills necessary to become proficient with skills fundamental to both ancient and modern Samurai.
Self Defense and Situation Awareness - Ages 16 and up!
No previous martial arts experience is needed - just a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. A proven set of self-defense techniques based on traditional martial arts will be covered, and the trained responses will evolve as confidence is established. In addition to a core set of striking techniques, a number of situational drills will be covered to teach you how to avoid and get out of bad situations.
We focus on personal development rather than sport competition working with each student to develop skills used both in and outside the Dojo (training hall).
Our classes are normally no larger than 6-10 students to ensure significant one-on-one time with each student.
You don't need any previous martial arts experience to start in any of our programs, only a willingness to learn and the initiative to take that first step onto the Dojo floor.
A typical class involves warm-up, stretching, conditioning, technique introduction, skill application, and cool-down, helping each student develop best practices for their martial arts lifestyle.
